Counselling Students:
It is the responsibility of study abroad counsellors to advise students as they navigate the process of studying abroad. This includes advising students on the many program alternatives, eligibility requirements, application procedures, financial assistance, and other relevant topics.
Conducting Orientation:
Counsellors may be responsible for giving pre-departure orientation classes in which they present students with critical information about the destination country, culture shock, travel and health insurance, safety measures, and other relevant issues. These sessions may be conducted before students depart.
Reviewing Applications:
Study abroad counsellors are responsible for reviewing over student applications and determining whether or not students meet the requirements to participate in study abroad programs. Additionally, they could offer assistance to students in filling out application forms, composing essays, and gathering the necessary evidence.
Coordination with overseas partners:
In order to guarantee that students' academic and cultural objectives are met by study abroad programs, counsellors act as liaisons with international partners such as universities, colleges, and program providers.
