Job Description
Your responsibilities involve (not limited to) the following -
Building high quality, scalable, resilient and performant product and services that meet business needs·
Bringing your ideas and creativity to set the QA approach, research technology to influence our direction and provide mentorship and coaching within your circle.
Leading on automation – whether that’s release automation, deployment pipelines or testing, working with all stakeholders to help drive improvements and efficiencies in our delivery.
Collaborate at all levels across Technology and Product (within and outside of a squad) to ensure delivery of products that meets business and customer need.
Being the domain expert within your squad, with a high-level understanding of other products/services across the business, and the QA tools and technologies used by other squads.
Take a lead in squad ceremonies, team meetings and company initiatives to help drive continual improvement across the department.
Contributing your expertise and experience to help drive continual improvement in the delivery processes of your squad, in order to ensure consistent delivery of value to the business.
Mentoring QA engineers, helping to build their skills, and supporting them to grow into well-rounded technologists.
Proactively drive innovation, with new ideas and options made available by new technology and process.
Preferred skills
We’re looking for someone with:
Demonstrable experience of line management or team leadership in previous roles
Expertise in high quality, iterative delivery of products that meet business needs
Comprehensive experience of using multiple test automation tools such as Selenium Webdriver, Cypress, Cucumber, RestAssured etc
Expertise in Object-Oriented and/or Functional programming principles, development standards, practices and patterns, along with a thorough understanding of software architecture
Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript
Thorough understanding of distributed systems, web technologies/protocols, API principles (e.g. REST, Web Sockets) and end to end performance
Strong working knowledge of cloud providers (AWS/GCP) and microservices
Excellent communication skills, being able to confidently articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences (including senior managers), and lead discussions both within and outside of the Technology space
Strong understanding of the principles of Agile working patterns and frameworks (e.g. Scrum/Kanban)
