Job Description:
? Ensure all aspects of hotel maintenance and management are kept to the very best
standards and in line with all relevant policies, procedures and health and safety
procedures.
? Ensure the maintenance office is kept clean and safe at all times.
? Take care of the hotel's infrastructure (e.g. exterior and interior buildings, electricity,
plumbing, kitchens, laundry, gardens and grounds, furniture, front of house, back of
house).
? Manage maintenance personnel and plan various renovation and repair projects as
identified in a timely manner.
? Organized and Proactive.
? Familiarity with electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems is essential, should also be
committed to meeting health and safety standards.
? Ensure the hotel premises are safe and functional for guests and employees alike.
Job Requirements:
? A high school diploma or qualification. A college or university degree would be a bonus,
but not essential
? Experience - ideally, at least 2 years in a senior maintenance position
? Proven experience as a Hotel Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor
? Fluency in English and a local language - extra language skills would be great, but not
essential
? Literate and tech-savvy - A good grasp of reading, writing, basic math and computer
literate.
? Flexibility - Night, weekend and holiday shifts are all part of the job.
? In-depth knowledge of all relevant health and safety regulations
? Familiarity with plumbing, electrical, sewer and HVAC systems; hotel industry
experience is a plus
? Ability to spot safety risks and address needs quickly
? Problem-solving aptitude
? Excellent organizational and leadership skills
? Attention to detail, to maintain the standards and maintain a highly organized and clean
and safe working environment for all
Salary + A year end incentive bonus to reflect efficiencies made and
equipment/electricity optimization will be provided on discretionary basis
Job Location : Zanzibar, Tanzania
Terms :
1. Contract Period : 2 Years
2. Food, Accommodation, Transportation, Medical Insurance, Joining Ticket, Return Ticket,
and Visa - Will be provided by Client.
3. Working hours/days: 8 am to 6 pm, must be flexible as this is a maintenance job,
issues may crop up during night time and daytime.
