Job Description
The Lab Technologist conducts destructive and non-destructive weld testing and analyzes results. Draws conclusions and makes recommendations for improving quality. Key Responsibilities
Coordinates with other Lab technician weld teardown operators and monitors their weld knowledge and quality systems effectiveness. Provides input and direction in the development of welding processes to ensure compliance, including fixtures necessary for quality checks. Assists with Ultrasonic correlation checks (UT vs. Weld Teardown) to validate NDT performance. Assists in Developing Teardown and Ultrasonic inspection plans. Performs daily Macro-etch testing as well as Teardown and Ultrasonic testing when required Manages and retains DT/NDT data from weld inspections. Evaluates weld destruct/non-destruct data to identify areas of improvement in welding process with reporting and follow-up. Provides identified defect samples to Fast Response Meeting.
