Job Criteria »
• Providing dialysis treatment to patients and following all the patient related treatment protocols in our dialysis unit. • Dialysis - Chemical preparation, priming, Initiation and termination of hemodialysis, CRRT and various other extracorporeal therapies. Reprocessing of dialyzer, observation and monitoring of patients during dialysis, assisting physicians for procedures related to dialysis. Handling different types of dialysis machines and vascular access, to maintain dialysis related records, to maintain RO water quality parameters. To respect and follow the advice given by consultants and other doctors, Head Nurse in Dialysis unit and the administrative staff in charge of the Dialysis unit. • Checking whether dialysis machines are working and setting up machines for dialysis. • Performing total patient care during dialysis including monitoring vital signs, checking patients’ weight, connecting patient to monitors, cannulation for dialysis and connecting the patients to dialysis machine. • Monitoring for complications during hemodialysis, and managing them after informing doctors. • Checking and doing the daily maintenance of water treatment plant in Dialysis unit. • Assessing the patient’s cannulation site in case of AV fistula for any bulge, bleeding or pain during dialysis. • Charting the patient details & procedure details during dialysis. • Confirming whether the patient can receive Heparin during dialysis • Performing the procedure of plasmapheresis, hemoperfusion and other extracorporeal therapies in Dialysis unit and ICUs. • Performing the various types of continuous renal replacement therapies. • Assisting the Physician in procedures like Kidney Biopsy, Bone marrow biopsy, Subclavian, femoral and internal jugular catheterizations, pleural tapping and ascitic tapping. • Assisting in emergency intubations of the patients during cardiopulmonary arrest. • Performing peritoneal dialysis, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis. • Removing internal jugular, femoral, Subclavian catheters • Reprocessing of the dialyzer and blood tubings • Coordining with the biomedical dept. for preventive maintenance of machines • Assuming responsibility for the maintenance of the Hemodialysis machines and water treatment unit for dialysis
