Top 7 Behavioral questions and how to answer them!

What is a behavioral question and what would be the best answer for it? It is a question or a way of technique that provides answer to the behavior of some individual. It is commonly used at the job interviews where the interviewers are asking different questions and getting different answers from the interviewees from which they can draw some conclusions about their behavior and whether the candidate is suitable for the job or not. Here are some examples, and some answers which the candidate can provide, and what actually the question reveals about the people. These questions are commonly used in the interviews.

1. How do you work under pressure and what is your biggest success?

This question can provide us with information about the candidate and the work under pressure. If the individual can work very well under pressure, then it is suitable candidate for some job position. From that we can conclude that the things she/he does, does them calmly, with previous thinking and analyzing every situation and bringing a conclusion at the end. This also means that the individual can handle almost every tense situation and still can concentrate on the work. The actions speak more than the words, so if the person says the things ended well even under pressure that is a strong person. And about the part of the biggest success, it would probably give information about the circumstances under which the individual got the success, what was done, how was achieved, who helped the success, etc. This speaks about the persistency of the candidate.

2. How can you handle the challenge and some awkward situations?

The challenge can be handled in different ways, and if the person handles it perfectly well, and plus tells you examples and explains how he/she handled it, then you have person that is ready to do risky things in order to achieve success. If the person is shy in some awkward situations and is doing nothing in order to avoid further awkwardness, then we can see that the person does not have strong attitude or other communication and social skills to turn that situation in some pleasant moment.

3. How can you handle the stress?

The question provides answer about the behavior of the individual in some stressful situations. Is the person someone who can easily handle the stress? Is the person someone who is too much affected from the situation and that affects on the future communication and behavior? If that is the case, the person is someone who gives up easily and cannot handle the situation.

4. What is your biggest mistake?

If the person is honest while is telling you the biggest mistake, then it means that is not ashamed of what happened and that still tries harder in order to make the things better, since you see it in front of you and try to have a conversation. If the person takes the mistake too much personally and every next time is scared from taking some challenge or doing something, it means the mistake had bad influence on him/her.

 

5. How do you set up your goals?

When the person says that he/she sets up the goals in long term and is expecting to do a lot of work before reaches the end, you have consistent candidate who is doing the things properly and in order before reaching the goal. It also means that has vision of working in one place for longer time. If the person says that achieves his/her goals very fast and that does that in every field, it means that the goals are short term and he/she would do anything to achieve them soon. This type of person is not needed in your life and company.

6. What are your weaknesses?

If the person honestly speaks about the weaknesses and explains how those weaknesses were obstacle in achieving some things, then it is easier for you to see that he/she is not bothered by sharing personal information. But if the person says that he/she is strong and no weaknesses can be obstacle, be sure that there is some white lie in that.

7. How would you describe yourself?

When the first impression and the self-description correspond, you will know that the person is saying the truth. The previous recommendations, CV, motivational letter and the behavior of the person can say more than the words, so you can easily make a conclusion.
